One new feature we haven’t mentioned in the main review is the inclusion of the support car championship, which offers you the chance to race around the same tracks in a variety of slightly less exciting vehicles than those on offer in the main game. So, if you’ve ever had the desire to race extremely gaudily coloured Ford Fiestas around Brands Hatch, then TOCA 2 is the game for you.
While there is a certain novelty appeal to it all, the fact remains that while a Fiesta might be a handy little car to pop down to the shops in, it doesn’t really go that fast out on the track. Still, it does kind of make sense when you consider that the main event involves racing Mondeos and Vectras. In fairness, this is a reasonable attempt to add more content, and should you have the patience to progress, you can actually unlock a few more exciting cars, such as the Jaguar XJ220.
