A quick note about a couple of small changes to the site structure: we’ve put together a Best of the Blog page with links to some of our longer-form pieces and series over the years. As it says on the page itself, we wanted to find a way to highlight these and put them on a par with the reviews, which are all easily accessible from the menu.
We’ve also consolidated the handful of non-review articles which predated the introduction of the blog, previously filed under ‘General Articles’, into this page. Although we did want to preserve these old pieces, there seemed little point in having a separate, rather sparsely populated, section that was never going to be added to.
Hopefully this serves our intended purpose and adds something to the site. Any thoughts or feedback, do let us know.
Excellent idea !
Now, if you could also add a ZIP or 7Z archive of the whole site, updated every trimester or semester, that would be the day. 😉

Any chance to maybe revisit some of these to produce YouTube content? Or even a podcast? Would be cool to hear you guys expand upon the reviews!

We are a bit old fashioned, being restricted to the written word in this modern internet full of youtubers. Unfortunately neither of us really has enough free time to start making videos or podcasts.
Maybe if we were 20somethings starting FFG today, it would be a different matter!
We do appreciate your enthusiasm for our reviews, though.

Hi Nick!
There is a big time commitment with videos and podcasts, but all of that aside I don’t personally think it would interest me as much – I don’t even listen to podcasts about games or watch many YouTube videos.
I prefer to think of this as being old-fashioned rather than (I hope) any kind of snobbery – growing up in the era of magazines it was the written review/article that I always wanted to emulate and that hasn’t ever really changed.
Nothing against YouTubers – good luck to them, it does seem like a very stressful and competitive environment to operate in, especially with the focus on regular content and views/subscribers, and the potential impact of negative comments. Not like the friendly and encouraging comments we get here!
We had talked about trying to do another discussion review one of these days, time allowing. That’s probably the best we can offer at the moment.

Totally understandable – ’tis part of the site’s charm that keeps me and others coming back. Hope you guys have a good holiday and happy new year!

OK, no comment and no archive. 🙁
Anyway, wish to both of you a merry christmas and many happy returns of new year. May 2019 be yet another FfG great year… without too many sports reviews (I guess you expected that one). Thanks for your work. 😉
